Hexbug Robotics

HEXBUG Robotics gave me my first opportunity to work on products that would be seen both on store shelves and online. Throughout the summer, I contributed to packaging, advertising, website graphics, and retail displays while learning how design supports every stage of a product's journey.

My role

My responsibilities included designing product packaging, creating digital and magazine advertisements, updating website graphics, and developing retail display mockups. I also prepared production-ready files and operated the packaging printer and cutting machine to assemble physical prototypes, giving me firsthand experience with the manufacturing process.

Project focus

This internship emphasized designing for production as much as aesthetics. Every piece needed to work across multiple formats, including packaging, web graphics, advertising, and in-store displays, while maintaining a consistent visual identity and meeting production requirements.

Seeing ideas move from concept to finished product changed the way I think about design. It reinforced the importance of considering materials, manufacturing, and the customer experience from the very beginning, lessons that continue to influence how I approach projects today.
